Local processing
When you use DataToolsHQ formatters, diff, redaction, and reporting tools, your input stays on your device. We do not operate a backend that receives or stores the content you paste into those tools.
Workspaces and browser storage
The following data is stored locally in your browser under datatoolshq.* keys in localStorage and is never transmitted to our servers: workspaces, recent payloads, recent reports, Pro validation responses, secret redaction settings, Pro interest state, and your light/dark theme preference. You can export or clear this data from your browser at any time.
No accounts or registration
DataToolsHQ does not offer user accounts or registration. We do not collect names, passwords, or profile information to use the free tools.
Analytics
On production (datatoolshq.com), we use Google Analytics 4 (provided by Google LLC) to understand aggregate page usage. GA4 sets first-party cookies (_ga, _gid) in your browser to distinguish sessions. No tool input or workspace content is sent to Google. Analytics is disabled on preview and local development builds. The GA4 script is served from Google's googletagmanager.com CDN — this is Google's hosting domain for the GA4 analytics SDK and is distinct from the Google Tag Manager product, which we do not use. Advertising infrastructure
DataToolsHQ includes infrastructure supporting multiple advertising networks (Google AdSense, Ezoic, and Mediavine) that is currently inactive. No ad scripts are loaded and no advertising cookies are set unless a publisher ID is configured in a future production deployment. If advertising is enabled, this policy will be updated to identify the specific network in use prior to activation.
No sale of personal data
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share tool input or workspace content with third parties for processing.
